More than an artist—Joëlle is an alchemist of colour. Her mission emerged from an arduous voyage of self-discovery and an unwavering passion for the arts. As a self-taught artist, Joëlle is an eternal student and fearless experimenter. In her studio, she discovered her affinity for palette knives and the joy of mixing paint directly onto her canvas. It was through this unscripted freedom, this act of pure artistry, that Urban Cubism™ was born.
But Joëlle's mission extends far beyond her canvases; it transcends into the lives of those who collect and appreciate her work. She’s watched her art resonate and deeply move people, evoking joy and connection. Thus, her mission is vividly clear: to connect people through her unparalleled style and leave an indelible, meaningful mark in the world of art.
A Journey Through Color and Form
From the moment she picked up a palette knife in Québec City, Joëlle knew she had found her calling. Despite her self-doubt and without a formal art education, Joëlle took the brave step of displaying her work at a brewery in Old Québec. The show sold out, catapulting her from aspiring artist to the art scene limelight.
It wasn't just emotional fuel; it was ignition. One of her first pieces sailed globally with a ship captain, and galleries from Montreal to Toronto came calling. Soon after, she met Greg, her life partner and biggest advocate. Together, they negotiated her first gallery contract in 2008, cementing art as not just a career but a life's mission.

She mixes paint directly on canvas or metal with her palette knife, giving each piece a unique, textured feel. While she has moved from oils to mainly using acrylics, the constant is her attention to craftsmanship and detail.
