More than an artist—Joëlle is an alchemist of colour. Her mission emerged from an arduous voyage of self-discovery and an unwavering passion for the arts. As a self-taught artist, Joëlle is an eternal student and fearless experimenter. Her childhood affinity for palette knifes naturally carried into her studio practice, where she found joy in mixing paint directly onto her canvas. That unscripted freedom became the fondation from which Urban Cubism™ gradually evolved.
But Joëlle's mission extends far beyond her canvases; it transcends into the lives of those who collect and appreciate her work. She’s watched her art resonate and deeply move people, evoking joy and connection. Thus, her mission is vividly clear: to connect people through her unparalleled style and leave an indelible, meaningful mark in the world of art.
A Journey Through Color and Form
Joëlle's connection to the palette knife began in childhood, long before she imagined becoming a professional artist. In 2007, without formal art training, she began preparing her first solo exhibition at L'Inox in Old Québec. Presented in February 2008, the exhibition sold out and marked the beginning of her professional career.
Her work quickly began reaching collectors beyond Québec. One of her early paintings traveled around the world with a ship captain, and galleries in Montréal and Toronto soon took notice. By 2008, Joëlle had secured her first gallery representation, transforming a lifelong connection to art into a professional career.

Process: The Magic Behind the Canvas
Joëlle's artistic journey is all about freedom and intuition, elements that have shaped her signature Urban Cubism. A simple sketch might kick off a commissioned piece, but for abstracts, it's all about letting the colors and forms evolve organically.
She mixes paint directly on canvas or metal with her palette knife, giving each piece a unique, textured feel. While she has moved from oils to mainly using acrylics, the constant is her attention to craftsmanship and detail.
Her metal pieces are intriguing and allow for the gloss finish application making the colors POP.
And don't forget the loud music—Joëlle's studio is a place of energy and inspiration, a true reflection of her Quebécois roots and dynamic approach to art.

Noteworthy achievements
Beginning with her sold-out first exhibition in February 2008, Joelle built an international career defined by bold color, architectural perspective, and an unmistakable visual language. Her work has been exhibited across Canada and the United States, earning awards, media recognition, and a devoted community of collectors. The cubist forms and palette-knife technique visible in her earliest professional work ultimately evolved into Urban Cubism™, the signature artistic movement at the heart of her practice.
By her late twenties, Joëlle had established a sustained record of artwork sales and collector support. In 2017, she received U.S. permanent residency through the EB-1 Extraordinary Ability category, recognizing her sustained achievements and international standing as an artist. Her painting "Without Hesitation" earned the grand prize at the 37th edition of Artexpo New York, and she was named a "Top 40 Artist to Watch" by Art Business News.
